About Me:
The School of Natural Dog Training and The Valley of No regrets.

in 1993 I was working for the Original Dog Whisperer in Santa Cruz. He hired me from The volunteer K9 Training center in Bonny Doon. He had ring sport dogs and we went around in a group doing bite work and Tracking. Bill "The Original Dog whisperer" was the best handler out of everyone...better than all of the cops and my boss.
The only better trainer I have met was his wife...Kate Davern Her Mother Pluis Davern a highly succesful Hunting dog trainer who currently runs the FEMA Disaster Dog Training Center in Gilroy CA. Kate was the Natural...My wife a Dressage Trainer managed the Stable where they kept there horses. While I love the "Movement to train" I was born in, it comes with problems..This is what my life is about.

Trouble

Handler Compliance.....

Reality...........................

It is now very apparent to me that everyday there are groups of negligent owners and just plain disobiedent people who won't follow laws...they don't listen to trainers......and they do what they want..

The laws we all as a democracy all agreed on is all that's really important...

What that really means is....if you get caught....your in trouble...Sued.....and worst forced to give up your dog.

So how compliant you are to the laws of… Continue

Know your poop

A dangerous propensity can include dangerous playfulness and over-demonstrative affection:

Tense and Submissive Owners "Opposite Of Calm and Assertive"

are you kidding? No..

But really ....

So for over 15 years I have been in a Pet store environment...Watching owners and listening to them talk to their dogs has been an invaluable experience..

Just listening to a person choose a flavor of dog food can tell you everything..

does little wittle snuffy fluffy like steake wakey or does he want braised loin and gwwwavy today..

Where do you want to go now sfluffy ? to the beach or to the spa? no how bout we go find a new squeaky?

Submissive langu… Continue

Hi Paul,
Thanks for the nice welcome. Yes, they are very special creatures. Got Chindi five years ago from Michigan and didn't realize right away what we had ended up with. Got up to speed very quickly, though. He was 8 weeks when he arrived. We got Taima a year later at about 9 months of age. As you can see by the pix, she's incredibly shy and fearful. I believe she was, minimally, verbally abused. Probably hit. Never good for any dog, but especially this breed. We found out when we got her that their mothers are sisters and Chindi's father is Taima's grandfather. We've worked very hard with them and Taima has come light years in the trust area. Obviously, they trust our 4 & 5 year old grandsons. It cracks me up that she's got her tail on her tummy, but not dragging the little one. Thought about having Chindi tested for therapy work, but they are so tightly bonded, it's difficult to break them up even for a few hours. If one has to go to the vet, the other goes too. It's nice to have a connection with someone who understands my type of mutt. Thanks for the add.

Hi Paul.. slow to respond here I am trapping at nite after I close down so I am home very late.

very nice of Valerie to help with some training and thank you for the discount..

I really love each and every dog.
they all are very unique in there own way, and shine with love and personality, most of what I do takes time and patience and consistency. I have had these dogs between a few months to a year.
I find them homes when I feel they are right for the dog and the people. I settle for nothing less.

so here we go.

Poppy and Hunny I do believe are brother and sister, they are about almost 2 fixed, I got them tied to a tree in the bay area.. I have no tolerance for people doing this.. they are both kind to all people kids included other than the happy tail syndrome. they are good dogs, most of the time listen well . know many commands.

Poppy and Hunny are the red nose pit bulls, they are still pretty much livestock aggressive, they are doing well with my horses. I dont give them opportunity to fail most of the time , he still wants to get my donkey.

I do not take them off campus anymore .. although I will in near future, I feel our society has become crazy place to be, and dont want my dogs in jeapordy.. crazy I know.
Poppy needs more leash training, and mental disipline as far as sit stay.
he is such a good dog.. cowards make you feel bad,, especially with men.

Hunny is pretty much go with the flow, easy dog , good with most dogs. Poppy too.. but seems a little to protective of hunny he did well though with a german shepard, and a boxer. they killed a cat, when they stayed with the lady that got them at first, I just went to help get them .. and then it got crazy with her and them with her.
so there with me.

Coty, is 4 year old heeler german short hair, she was a local rescues dog we will discuss that later, but she was misplaced 5 times, not because something was wrong with Koty, these people we young kids. and moved alot..
no leash training what so ever, separation anxiety severe.. doesnt tear up things, just obessively barks all day long, no matter how much attention or how much exercise you give her. she has been with me hmm 2-3 months. she is also dog aggressive, and fear aggression.

Jaymie and I took her to introduce her to a potential new home, she wouldnt stop barking at the other dog lunging.. it was bad..

One of the complaints of the owners. were you never knew which dogs she would like or not like, lunging at the leash, constant barking. if your with her, she is fine, she loves loves men. she loves swimming, and frisbee, and throwing treats, can shake , listens well and wants to please. will go home kennel .. even though she doesnt want to.. she is a really really sweet dog. but has some major issues.. we are still working with, again, constant, consistency, patience. is my policy.

Peter Parker.
is 2 year old, I am told choc lab border collie, my opinion he is choc lab, pit bull, he was used for bait for fighting ring, I am certain and the vet feels his wounds were from being used as fighting dog. he is the saddest case, to much to list, but is the happiest dog yet I have ever met. his problem he is so happy to have someone love him, jumping, and nipping , wants you to play and run,, so he jumps and nips.. He is having surgery tomorrow morning on his ear. it is completely closed over, and his ear is filled with fluid.. he is miserable, also cant hear out of it,, he will be a new dog soon. paralyzed on side of his face also..

Ok you should have a feel for the dogs. have questions give me a call. usually between 2-10pm is ok.
526-0970 I have been trapping at nite. so you can call my cell after 9pm if your a nightowl.

Hi Paul,
the canine campaions i seen their place and they do a great job on training the dogs for wheelchairs..
i the best thing for you to do is have them send information to the person looking for a trained dog for wheelchair... like guide dogs for the blind. they work with the person and dog together... Nancy

I tried holding her collar tonight when she barked at nothing (that I saw) and talked to her softly. Told her to relax and calm down, (I had her in a sit), and she actually listened. When taking her back in after her potty time, I didn't have to fight with her. I stayed calm instead of getting mad. It does help to not get angry as she doesn't listen as well. She fights me if I am angry. Actually I am fighting with her. Thanks for reminding me.
